Janelle Boogar is a licensed occupational therapist (MS, OTR/L) and the founder of Lakeside Occupational Therapy, PLLC in Tavares, Florida. Background

I am a pediatric occupational therapist with over 12 years of experience working across a variety of healthcare, educational, and community-based settings. My diverse experience has given me a broad understanding of development, function, participation, and the many factors that influence a person's ability to engage successfully in everyday activities.

My passion is working with children and their families to help children build the skills they need to participate more confidently and independently in their daily lives. I believe occupational therapy should look beyond isolated skills and consider the whole child—their strengths, interests, environment, relationships, routines, and individual needs. My approach is family-centered, strengths-based, and collaborative. I value partnering with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals to develop practical strategies that can be carried over into a child's everyday life.

As the owner and occupational therapist at Lakeside Occupational Therapy, my goal is to provide individualized, compassionate care in an environment where children feel safe, supported, and successful. Therapy is designed to be meaningful and engaging while addressing functional skills that make a difference in each child's daily life.

How Lakeside Occupational Therapy Works

Therapy at Lakeside is play-based, evidence-informed, and built with the family rather than delivered to them.

Play-based, because children learn best when they are engaged. A child working through an obstacle course is building motor planning, bilateral coordination, and frustration tolerance, and experiences none of it as work.

Evidence-informed, because enthusiasm is not a treatment plan. Interventions are chosen for research support and reassessed against measurable goals.

Family-centered, because Janelle sees your child for an hour and you have them for the other hundred and sixty-seven. Every session ends with something concrete you can carry into the week.
